Match Season and Friendlies

We are looking to field teams in the Rugby and District League when the league starts up again in late September. Teams willl be across the divisions, so if some competetive games there’s a chance for everyone to play. A sign-up sheet will be available at club night, or contact Simon (Match Secretary) using the Contact Us page. There is also the opportunity for friendly matches with other local teams before the league starts.

Badminton resumes from 20th May 2021

Hunters Badminton Club are pleased to announce that Thursday club nights will resume from 20th May at Harris Sports Centre.

For those that attended in September and October, we will be operating the same procedure as before:

  • Attendees must book each session up to 24 hours in advance using the booking form on the website for each session.
  • Payment is pay-per-play and to confirm your place, payment should be made when booking. Bank details are provided on your booking email.
  • You will be advised your court and start time on Wednesday evening.
  • Players must “bubble” on a single court and cannot move or switch courts once allocated.
  • Masks must be worn when off court and the Covid procedures should be followed.

Booking for 20th May is open. We are expecting strong demand so please book early as places are limited to 18 and allocated first-come-first served.

Club night suspended

Following the announcement made by the Prime Minister on Saturday 31st October, Hunters Badminton is suspending club nights until further notice.

As the rules are set to take effect as of 00.01 on Thursday the 5th November this means our intended club night on the same day is cancelled; there is no final badminton session ahead of the restrictions unfortunately.

We are otherwise incredibly grateful for all for your support over the past two months; it has been great to see such an enthusiastic response to being able to play again and it’s a shame we’re curtailed again so soon.

From hereon we will update the website and email you once we know more. In the meantime, stay safe and we hope to see you playing again soon!

Thank you again for your support,

From all at Hunters Badminton

Bookings and Payments

We hope you are all enjoying the return to badminton. The club booking system continues to work well as a necessary part of our Covid-19 policy. Bookings should be up to 7 days in advance and no later than 8pm on the Wednesday before club night. We will try and accommodate all bookings and will confirm places after 8pm Wednesday. Currently there is no facility to check your bookings, but you will receive an email when you book, so check your emails if you’re unsure of your booking. If in doubt contact Simon or JP who can check the booking system.

For the forseeable future, club night will be “Pay-per-Play” at £5 per session. We are switching to fully electronc payments, so please pay by bank transfer, ideally when you make your booking. We will accept cash on the night for the time being, but plan to phase this out shortly. Bank account details will be provided when you make a booking.

Returning to badminton

The committee have been in discussion regarding a safe return to badminton, and we are making arrangements to resume the club from Thursday 3rd September. There will be a number of important changes that we will communicate before we can resume. If you are aware of players (existing or new) who might not be on this circulation list, please ask them to subscribe to the updates.

Coronavirus – Club and Leagues suspended

In line with the latest government advice, the club have decided to suspend activities until further notice. Both Rugby and Coventry leagues have advised that fixtures are to be postponed.

This will remain in effect until further notice. Please check back to the website for further updates.

Coronavirus – club update

The committee have assessed the risk of coronavirus and have the following advice for members.

Club nights and matches will continue for the time being. If this changes, we will update the website – please check before attending.

While the risk is in place, we kindly ask all members to reduce the risk of transmission by observing these sensible precautions:

  • No pegboard – games will be organised “ad-hoc”
  • Please wash hands before and after attending club / matches
  • If you feel unwell please do not attend club
  • If you become unwell having previously attended club, please let a committee member know as soon as possible, (use the Contact Us page if you don’t have contact details)
